Alien Lamps

It’s like having a lot of tiny Caspers (the cartoon ghost?)  in your house. Some people may even enjoy that.

“Alien” is an out-of-this-world-looking lamp created by design studio Büro für Form and manufactured by Next.

Designers inform us that there are two different sizes and four variations available so you have where to choose from.

Although these grand light effects dazzled the viewers, there seems to be an earlier version of this particular chandelier design which dates from 2005.

LightPoints from SCHOTT

This is a shiny design idea that brings together new technologies and materials in creating a miniature spectacle of light. But as you will see in the pictures below, it’s a concept that may be applied at a large scale also.

The transparent glass is provided with LEDs, which give meaning to the object’s name. Light is emitted in both directions. The next picture offers more technical details.

This is only a concept, but by the look of things, such products should be available in stores soon. We also have written an article about the Sparkling Interactive Table which is much alike.

Light Emitting Wallpaper

This is basically every (big) kid’s dream: having a room that sparkles.

wallpaper-5.jpg

The light emitting wallpaper is exactly what its names suggests. The interesting thing about it is that when it’s not turned, it seems to be just a normal wallpaper.

Milky Way Outdoor Chandelier

Apparently a normal light source, the Milky Way Chandelier is made out of 14 empty milk gallons (washed), 1 hula hoop (cover removed), 1 set of 5 watt holiday lights, 28 screws, 4 eyelets, 1 clothesline, as explained here.

The view from beneath is particularly interesting and it confirms that the chandelier is not only ingenious, but also good looking.
