Lapsi Children’s Chair, the Way to Encourage Children to Read and Write

lapsi-childrens-chair_01_qeFnx_17621

There’s really no telling on how the kids will react when seeing this chair. It is very possible that they will try to hide under it or turn it upside down in the most creative ways. However, his chair was especially designed to store books so perhaps if the children are being explained what the chair is for, their chances of learning something due to this chair will increase.

I will come back with further details.

Fluid Rocker, The Way to Relax

fluid_rocker_01

Feel free to slip into sweet meditation with these comfortable and colorful rockers.

And because no one can describe the Fluid Rocker better than the designer himself, here is a statement from Nick Trincia:

“My entry for the RELAX Design Competition is one of the most relaxing of all pieces of furniture, a rocking chair. The Fluid Rocker’s soft curves and ergonomic form make it as inviting to look at as it is to sit in. The chair’s flowing organic shape is achieved through a one piece fiber glass construction with a high-gloss finish. For added comfort and texture, a layer of soft natural felt wraps over the entire outer face of the chair. On the upper side of the chair, the felt provides added cushion for sitting, while on the underside of the chair it provides for quieter, softer rocking, and protection for your floors.”

Admit it, it’s very hard for you to imagine actually taking a sit in it. It seems so …shredded and fragile. However, the chair has an impressive “design background”.

The chair was designed by Architect/Designer Charles Kaisin from Brussels and it is a manifest for Ecology.

The design was first presented on September 2007 at the Maison&Object fair in Paris.

No space? No problem. We have the Cube 6!

Comments Off

The Cube 6 is not just an ordinary cube. If you detach its parts you will reveal six little chairs. Perhaps they don’t look too comfortable, but I am telling you they really matter in small seating places.

Cube 6

The idea belongs to a Japanese designer, of course. In Japan they have big trouble with the living space, so apartments are not very generous. The Cube might be the perfect solution for such small apartments.

Ruckabye Baby…

Since that crazy need for relaxation strikes when you least expect it, you have to always have a good remedy close by.

Combining some nice vintage features with a modern design idea, this lovely rocking chair was created for those times you feel like having a well deserved break.

The price (almost 2900$) may seem a bit high and it’s probably due to the cane and bamboo the chair is made of.

The shape requires some considerable storage place, but the way it’s made makes is perfect for it to be placed in the garden or anywhere else in your yard. It seems particularly designed for those wonderful long rests in the shade.

The extraordinary bed

For Paola Verzola, an Italian designer, the space represents an important issue. That is why she created a space-saving bed. If you have a limited space, you could buy such an interesting bed… or chair…

But what is the point of these pieces of furniture? Paola made a buckle down sleeper chair. You could use it as a bed or as a comfortable chair. During the day, you can relax reading a book, and by night, you can deeply sleep in that chair transformed in a big bed. Besides, it is very useful when you have some guests. Its futuristic shape can fit in your bedroom designed in a minimalist style.

Wall Shaped like a Wave

This is a nice piece of furniture: simple and enjoyable to look at.

Also very useful. As you will see in the picture above, one can store books in it, use it as a desk, or even as a chair (you never know how comfortable that may be exactly unless you try it out).

It’s just amazing that people didn’t come up with that before.
