The dilemma of wallpapers

wall muralMany of us wonder if we should use wallpapers or not. Opinions are various: when you think of removing wallpapers, you would say no (if you know what I am talking about). But when you think of how easily you can get a good look for your rooms, you say yes. Another factor is that wallpapers are kind of out of trend. But to keep the business going, wallpaper manufacturers came up with new ideas and products. For example the photo wall murals, which work like ordinary wallpapers, but can be customized to your tastes and bring a touch of originality to your interiors. Another option are wallies, I have been talking about in another articles, which again, work like wallpapers, only they come as smaller shapes used in decorating any kind of wall. As I explained in the other article, they come in various themes, shapes and colors. Some are even (re)movable, to change the configuration of the accents as and when you like.

I know I shouldn’t tell you this but I feel it as my obligation: don’t use wallpapers in bathrooms and kitchens. For one, wallpapers and water (moisture) are rivals and it could get a pretty difficult job trying to squeeze in the fix-size wallpapers on the small walls with lots of corners and frequent outlets and fixtures.

And as a compromise, if you like the look of a wallpaper but don’t want the fuss of the technique, try to reproduce its look with a paint job. It can be an interesting activity but if the result is good, you will feel much more satisfied.
