Basement flooring

Decorating the basement has spread a lot in the last years, even though basements are not made for living in. One of the biggest problems in a basement is flooring. Basements are cold, wet and dark, so wood flooring is not strongly discouraged, though not impossible. However, I want to focus on tiles, because mainly, we bring up kitchens and bathrooms in the basement (another thing that excludes wood). The problem is, tiling is cold as it is especially on a basement floor. Insulating with plywood is not recommended because of the moist and because it raises the floor a lot (we’re speaking of 5 centimeters or so which in a basement can be vital). So my choice would be the more and more popular heat blankets installed under the tiles. They come in different sizes, are becoming cheaper and cheaper, and they get the job done.

rug and tiles

Of course, you can always go for the carpet-over-all method, which is probably cheaper, but then why would you put down tiles? And carpet on concrete is kinda sick too.
