The Balance Bookshelf
This is another great bookshelf idea. It’s not elastic, but balanced… Perhaps the designer (Denis Oh) thought about it as a funny, entertaining decor. The Balance bookshelf is in fact a bit of a balance.
It consists in a shelf fixed in a single point on the wall, two hanging cords and two pins underneath the shelf. To gain its equilibrium one should either find the perfect amount of books put in balance or to adjust it moving the hanging cords. It might look complicated, but it’s quite amusing.

I agree, I can’t see why it’s so dumb; seems like a nice idea to me – you’d have to have the right house though…
What if you have a vase on it with water in it :0

I agree..not only is it unattractive, its a dumb idea. Why would anyone want to chance the shelf dumping on your head?..or worse, your kids head. Sheesh..don’t we have enought to deal with?
