How to decorate a room on a budget

From time to time any room should be redecorated. That’s because your tired of looking at the same old room. In order to make something special you need to spend some cash. But how can you decorate a room on a limited budget?

With a little imagination and some brilliant ideas you could be more than pleased about the new designed room. I wrote down a few steps to decorate a room on a limited budget.

1. First of all, you should consider the following aspects:

- the exact amount of money to be spend;
- think about the style of your room (contemporary/modern, country etc.);
- new paint or new wallpapers.

2. Secondly, you must empty the room. Or, if the furniture can stay in the middle, choose this option. Definitely your walls should be painted or covered with a new wallpaper. Painting is a little harder for unexperienced people, but it is more fun. You can choose a light color (like blue, yellow or pink). Pick the color carefully and keep the theme line. A talented cousin or friend could draw in pencil flowers or any other motives compatible with your style.

On the other hand, using the wallpapers isn’t so costly. Cheap wallpapers are found in many stores. Find some discounts!

3. Next, buy cheap rugs and draperies. Check Wal-Mart and IKEA stores. Purchasing these products could save you a lot of money.

4. Don’t forget the bedding! Printed bedding costs more then solid color bedding. Save some money again. Buy cheap materials and do yourself some pillows. You don’t need to be a tailor to sew the materials.

5. Rearrange the furniture. Choose the best way to obtain more space. If you find your furniture looks unpleasant, purchase some slip covers. They come in all different styles and patterns.

6. Alter the objects that don’t match the room’s theme. Lamps, frames, wooden objects, clocks or vases can look different with a new paint job. Use spray paint or textured paints to transform these objects. The success is guaranteed.

7. Find inexpensive art prints online and at retail stores. Visit an artwork and choose some cheap paintings and other decorating objects. Again, call the talented cousin or friend to make you some cool drawings on the paper. Buy frames and that’s it!

8. Use old objects to decorate. My father found in my grandma’s yard an old iron that used hot coals to iron the clothes once. The rusty iron was painted and now looks brilliant on a shelf.

9. Feel free to imagine! Discover new ideas by yourself. Check for online tips and advices.
