Christmas Tree Furniture

A really nice idea from designer Manuela Michalski.

A group of storage “boxes” that you can move around like lego pieces, to create new and interesting shapes.

And since Christmas time is near,  have fun putting together a tall and handsome Christmas tree.

Christmas tips with Lou Manfredini

Guest post by Lou Manfredini Ace’s “Helpful Hardware Man”.

Topic One: Artificial Trees
I’m Lou Manfredini, Ace’s “Helpful Hardware Man” and I know that the holidays  can sometimes be tough for those with allergies. A great solution is to invest in a high-quality artificial tree that will last for years. Today, there is a great selection of artificial trees that look like the real thing. They even are designed to replicate different tree varieties, so you are sure to find one that fits your needs. Some of my favorites include: Spruces, Pines, and Dunhil Firs – all of which you can get at www.acehardware.com.

Many of these trees come pre-lit, so all you need to do is bring it home and plug it in. Plus, you’ll never have to worry about the clean-up! Prices for these range from $129 for an Oregon Pine Tree up to $250 for a pre-lit Spruce Tree, well worth the investment if you consider the years of use you’ll get out of it!

Topic 2: Outdoor Lighting
outdoor_lightsLou here, Ace’s “Helpful Hardware Man” and I love the holiday season. I wanted to share with you a simple trick to make your holiday lighting a lot easier this season: clips. Clips, like the ones featured below, attach easily to your interior and exterior walls. You can get the job done in much less time and they are easy to remove after the New Year!

Also, if you find yourself with lots of exposed wires, purchase an extension cord that has multiple outlets. This will help you hide those unsightly wires! And remember: never string more than 3 strands of lights together — it’s a fire hazard!

Topic 3: Decorating Techniques for Interior and Exterior of the House
led-lightsIf you are like me, then about this time of year you find yourself surrounded by strand after strand of glowing and twinkling Holiday lights. I’m Lou Manfredini, Ace’s “Helpful Hardware Man” and if you’ve ever wondered if there was a way that you could still have the lights you love, while cutting down on your energy consumption, then I’ve got an answer for you: LED holiday lights.

LED holiday lights have recently entered the market and they are fantastic! The bulbs emit a beautiful glow that is brighter and richer than other holiday lights, while much like other LED lights, they are more durable and can last for years. Plus LED lights are cool to the touch, which means that they are safer for use around children and live greenery. You can get all this, while helping to conserve energy. What’s not to like!

Halloween Food Designs

Since October 31 is near, we decided to tempt you with these spooky (well half spooky) food designs. Some of them are quite interesting, maybe even appealing. Spider Cakes, Eyeball Soup, Eerie Eyeballs, Eyeball Caprese and Monster Cupcakes (these last ones are kinda cute) are just a few of the dishes you can serve for Halloween.

You can find the recipes for these food “courses”  as well as for other Halloween dishes here. But be careful, some of them are pretty hard-core stuff.

The Red Christmas Tree

In case you were getting sick of all that green, this is a new variation of Christmas trees. I guess they just decided to look more like Santa.

If red is your thing, then the red branches and the red lights should please you. You may also wanna add a red room to it. Or maybe not.

Have a Marry Christmas and some great holidays, no matter what color they are!

Winter Ornaments

These festive ornaments go good in any house. They are colorful, bright and seem to spread childish joy all around which is actually what they’re supposed to do, so no surprise there.

The prices for these objects are around 20$, whether we are talking about the Jolly Poodle Ornament or the Modern Ceramic Ornament Set in the first picture.

So enjoy your holidays, and take your time to choose carefully, because there is a wide range of ornaments you can highlight in your tree. And this site will make sure, due to all the articles yet to come, that you will have a hard time making your decision (evil laugh).

Snow Globes

Designers Walter Martin and Paloma Munoz’ managed to trap something really nice in these snow globes.

Their dimensions ( 4.75″ x 6″ ) are rather large, so we can honestly say that a single snow globe can really cheer up the place, thus making it alright for you to get into the spirit of the holidays.

The products are limited edition. Apparently there are only 250 of each type and they will be available soon enough.
