Liquid Lamp is a Japanese project which belongs to Kyouei Design and it happens to be a simple and yet elegant idea for an original interior.

You may choose to install only one liquid lamp in your room, but the more you do, the more interesting the decor gets.

Here’s a great design idea that I haven’t seen being applied in any library. Book shelves that are also stairs. An easy way of getting the book you want. It’s just one of those designs that makes you wonder “why didn’t I think of that?”

If take a minute to ponder about it, it is not all that hard to build. You could even try to do it yourself, using some wood and some nails. Also works for categorizing CD’s. Nice!

Here’s a nice, down-to-earth tip for creating your own fancy bookshelves. Using some wood found on the street, Michelle Nicholls, a student at Pratt Institute designed and built these diagonal shelves. Don’t let the picture fool you, they can very well stand on their own and hold a bunch of stuff too.

We figured it would be a nice and simple idea for you to be able to store all those books and CD cases you had lying around your room. Also, it’s not all that hard to do, you just need some nails, some paint and a bit of imagination.

Recycling and reusing is the insight that lead to the creation of “334″, this newspaper bench you see in the pictures in front of you. The bench was created for the X days project and it is in fact made of three parallel metal bars covered with 334 old newspapers, stuck together.

Apparently, the bench is able to support five person at once, an amazing thing considering how easy it was made. Perhaps you can even do this your self.

Today’s lesson: rusty old chairs that transform into beautiful planters.

With patience and practice you will probably learn to do great flower designs from unwanted objects in no time. Then not only your yard will look amazing, but you will get to brag about it too.

Now this is a more modern version of a chair planter that you can even place indoors. It is designed by Zhuo Wang and can be purchased from here.

However, when the plant will fully cover the chair, you will not be able to use it for its natural purpose and actually sit on it.

These really practical shelves are great to have around in your moments of sleep. And immediately before.

Good for minor storages such as books, magazines, liquids and important night creams for the ladies, they are also unbelievably good looking. Some of them you can even do yourself.

Like every other clock, it has the ability to tell time. But the way it does that can raise eyebrows. Made out of more that 150 individual clocks mounted to a 140 cm x 140 cm panel, it seems that it shows the time in a completely messed up way. In fact, when it’s twelve o’ clock for example, individual clocks at the top of the panel spell the word twelve. This happens as a result of the great coordination of the individual clocks.
