This is one for the do-it-your-self section. What you see in the picture below is a bunch of inflated latex gloves with several light-bulbs inside.

Made by Katarina Britse at Beckman’s College of Design, this chandelier is something relatively easy to do in the comfort of your own house, considering you have a thing for surgical gloves and a system to keep them inflated all the time.

The Crimea Bed

Wednesday
Dec 19,2007

If you can get over the hospital-bed-feeling, this looks pretty neat. Simple idea, elegant looks. The Crimea bed is designed and soled in Italy, and can be ordered online here.

The available measures are presented in the picture above. Also, a pretty useful thing for those who would rather their bed was… lighter, the vertical supports are removable.

If you’re lacking design ideas for your living-room, if you won many spelling-contests as a child or just if you enjoy how this this looks, we give you the Giant Scrabbled Room.

We don’t exactly see how those couches are comfortable, I guess the angle must be bad or something. The pillows are great for pillow-fighting though.

Apparently a normal light source, the Milky Way Chandelier is made out of 14 empty milk gallons (washed), 1 hula hoop (cover removed), 1 set of 5 watt holiday lights, 28 screws, 4 eyelets, 1 clothesline, as explained here.

The view from beneath is particularly interesting and it confirms that the chandelier is not only ingenious, but also good looking.

Don’t worry, the little black faces aren’t real. they are just some crazy and yet impressive design ideas.

The shapes you see are patterns that can be applied on your furniture by simply unsticking them of the white paper they come with and then stick them again to your wall. Easy as that.
