A Furniture First

In the rate technology is going, this floating bed shouldn’t surprise you. And yet…

This futuristic piece of work comes from Dutch architect Janjaap Ruijssenaars. It’s very expensive but this is what it gets for being ahead of its time. This out of the ordinary bed can actually stay about one feet off the ground do to magnets that repel each other with a strong force.

If this goes on, by the end of the century everything might be floating in your house, so prepare yourselves.

The extraordinary bed

For Paola Verzola, an Italian designer, the space represents an important issue. That is why she created a space-saving bed. If you have a limited space, you could buy such an interesting bed… or chair…

But what is the point of these pieces of furniture? Paola made a buckle down sleeper chair. You could use it as a bed or as a comfortable chair. During the day, you can relax reading a book, and by night, you can deeply sleep in that chair transformed in a big bed. Besides, it is very useful when you have some guests. Its futuristic shape can fit in your bedroom designed in a minimalist style.

Special Drinks Come in Special Packages

These uncommon cups of tea only prove that design is more and more a part of our lives with each passing day.

The first one is called ‘Chismosa’ and is thought and created by Juanico and in the second picture we can observe ‘Sexy Legs’ by Undergrowth. They both have an unexpected look, but than again the future of design is all about creating surprising and unexpected things.

Wall Shaped like a Wave

This is a nice piece of furniture: simple and enjoyable to look at.

Also very useful. As you will see in the picture above, one can store books in it, use it as a desk, or even as a chair (you never know how comfortable that may be exactly unless you try it out).

It’s just amazing that people didn’t come up with that before.

South America Paper Dispenser

To prove that saving the environment is not at all boring, these paper dispensers make people realize that recycling should be a major concern for each and everyone of us. And saving paper is a good way to start.

This definitely can make one think. It’s so simple and yet so full of meaning. So what if it’s situated in the bathroom?

The message is particularly strong. The agency that created this ad (and perhaps the product will follow) is Saachi&Saachi, Copenhagen, which makes us give a big “thumbs up” to advertising in this case.

Fake Window, Fake Daylight

Well there you have it: a brand new window with artificial lighting which may puzzle people.

Bright Blind instantly can make you think there is a real window where… well, there isn’t one. This blind is very similar to regular blinds and it works the same.You can have as many as you want in your house, as long as you do realize that artificial light can’t compare with the real thing, and perhaps one or two normal windows in your room couldn’t heart.

It is designed by Mangoose and it should be available in stores any day now.

Going to the store for drinks is now history. The My Fountain machine doesn’t even have to go anywhere for drinks, because it has the wonderful ability of preparing them on the spot. With the digital screen, your drink is only a touch of a button away.

A funny thing about this beverage computer is that it may be password protected. This is useful for those situations when you don’t want someone to go out and drink alcohol before they drive.

The device is meant for those who own a bar or a restaurant, but also for consumers with a taste for technology.

The prise is estimated around $2500 and the product’s launch on the market is expected in Spring, 2008.
