Dror Benshetrit’s Pick Chair

Dror Benshetrit studied at The Design Academy in Eindhoven before opening its New York based studio in 2002. His Studio has conducted many projects for some powerful brands like: Swarovski or Levi’s.

With a continuous preoccupation for aesthetics and style, Dror’s Studio has accomplished wonderful projects. The one that I want to present you is a combination between wall arts and modern innovative furniture.

Pick Chair

The Pick Chair. Actually I see it more like a decorative wall art than a piece of furniture. Dror combined the usability and the design for creating the Pick Chair. The idea seems to be exceptional. The “decorative” chair could be used in offices, presentation studios and even for your fancy crib. Cool, ha?

Mediterranean living

As I was telling you about the vacation in Greece, I have discovered a truly interesting landscape. The relief in Greece consists in rocky mountains and hills that dop into the sea. From place to place there are beaches, many of them very peaceful. What I considered attractive are the pine forests that complete the wonderful picture.

There, on the rocky mountains, from where the view is so beautiful, the Greeks constructed their homes. Sea in the front, mountain above, and the sound of the waves. That would be a place for living.

I have selected some photos for you, to see the beauty of the Mediterranean places.

Colors from the nature

In a wonderful vacation on Greek Aegean Coast, one of my friends gathered colored rocks from the beach. She is a real passionate about arts, architecture and design. I must agree with her that the nature’s providing all types of colors and palettes. So, there are a lot resources to decorate a room, office with natural products like rocks, wood, shells etc.

The Hushamock or the Baby Hammock

The Hushamock was inspired by the original hammock. The hammock origins come from the South America. It was used by Mayans, for sleeping. The hammocks are known for their comfort and health benefits. I have recently presented you Le Beanock – a sort of hammock bed for adults.

Hushamock

HushamockThe baby hammock has proven to provide relief for colic, reflux, short nappers and restless sleepers. Also the baby hammocks represent a proper way for eliminating the risks of smothering and SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) by ensuring baby sleeps on his or her back as doctors recommend in the first critical year.

The Hushamock combines the modernism with the old hammock utility. It consists in a metallic/wooden stand and a hammock. The stands comes in three variants: Hushamok Usana, Hushamok Okoa (limited edition), Hushamok Classic Stand. The hammock is made from high quality pre-shrunk machine washable 100% cotton that is double-lined and backstitched. The colors available are au-natural, and also girlie pink, swimming-‘n-blue, granny apple green and sun kissed orange.

I want to enumerate some advantages of the Hushamock:
- it is the ideal sleeping environment for your baby;
- its unique design and the set of colors used represent a fashionable addition to any room;
- it is durable, lightweight and portable, making it ideal for around the home or packed for travel;
- it is perfect to avoid heath risks and SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome);
- recommend for the restless sleepers.

Hushamock

Attention, the price for the Hushamock is $429.00. Even though, I would buy it for my child’s safety. Truly a piece of art!

Eco design from Reestore

As they describe their company, Reestore takes everyday waste objects and cheekily turn them into charming yet functional pieces of furniture and accessories.

Reestore has a large range of restored products, but I’ve selected only two. These have attracted my attention: the bath tub transformed in a sofa and the washing machine drum that gives light in your room.

Max Sofa

The sofa, also called Max was originally a bath tub. Fine fabrics, a nice paint, some cushions and that’s the new sofa! Even the materials were recycled, the price remains higher – £1,480 (updated price).

Silvana

Reestore’s most popular product is Silvana, the washing machine drum that produce a beautiful ambient glow light. It was finished with a frosted glass surface for mug resting heaven. The brilliant idea has attract many buyers. My father used a washing machine drum for creating a grill, but I’ve never thought it could be used for lighting. Silvana was priced at £275 (updated price).
