Le Beanock – A Stylish Lounging Solution

Le Beanock

It is the 21st century solution to stylish lounging. Le Beanock, as it was called, is a combination between a beanbag and a hammock. You just need to swing it from the ceiling to create the ultimate relaxation and chill-out zone.

Le Beanock was created as a stylish and functional lounging solution. The chains and eyelets are fashioned from marine quality metal tested for strength and resilience in traditional boatyards. The marine crafts inspired all the construction. So, the four corners are reinforced with hard-wearing terylene sailcloth similar to material that’s weathered storms on the high seas.

Tracie Herrtage, its designer, has conceived a product that is characterized by style, beauty and functionality.

Le Beanock is available in two colors – natural and cool black. The designers plan a further choice of fashionable color ways. It comes to two generous sizes: 2 x 1.75 meters and 1 x 1.75 meters. Le Beanock has been weight tested to 200 kilograms for the larger one and 100 kilograms for the smaller single one. Le Beanock was priced at £495 the big one and £250 the smaller version.

Le Beanock.

Another DIY Battery Lamp

If you remember I presented once a DIY battery lamp idea. Now I am writing about the Mathmos 9 VOLTS LED Battery light, which I have found at Inhabitat.

Another DIY Battery Lamp

The 9 Volts lamp was at first a prototype design, and now has gone into mass production. The simple idea has attract many praises. You just need to clip the LED light to a 9 volt battery (supplied). The 9 Volts LED has also a tilt switch, stand up to turn on and lie down to turn off. The lamp works with regular or rechargeable batteries.

Currently the online store has a promo offer – 5 (3 Red and 2 Blue) 9 Volts for the price of 4, usually worth £65 but yours for only £52.

How to decorate a room on a budget

From time to time any room should be redecorated. That’s because your tired of looking at the same old room. In order to make something special you need to spend some cash. But how can you decorate a room on a limited budget?

With a little imagination and some brilliant ideas you could be more than pleased about the new designed room. I wrote down a few steps to decorate a room on a limited budget.

1. First of all, you should consider the following aspects:

- the exact amount of money to be spend;
- think about the style of your room (contemporary/modern, country etc.);
- new paint or new wallpapers.

2. Secondly, you must empty the room. Or, if the furniture can stay in the middle, choose this option. Definitely your walls should be painted or covered with a new wallpaper. Painting is a little harder for unexperienced people, but it is more fun. You can choose a light color (like blue, yellow or pink). Pick the color carefully and keep the theme line. A talented cousin or friend could draw in pencil flowers or any other motives compatible with your style.

On the other hand, using the wallpapers isn’t so costly. Cheap wallpapers are found in many stores. Find some discounts!

3. Next, buy cheap rugs and draperies. Check Wal-Mart and IKEA stores. Purchasing these products could save you a lot of money.

4. Don’t forget the bedding! Printed bedding costs more then solid color bedding. Save some money again. Buy cheap materials and do yourself some pillows. You don’t need to be a tailor to sew the materials.

5. Rearrange the furniture. Choose the best way to obtain more space. If you find your furniture looks unpleasant, purchase some slip covers. They come in all different styles and patterns.

6. Alter the objects that don’t match the room’s theme. Lamps, frames, wooden objects, clocks or vases can look different with a new paint job. Use spray paint or textured paints to transform these objects. The success is guaranteed.

7. Find inexpensive art prints online and at retail stores. Visit an artwork and choose some cheap paintings and other decorating objects. Again, call the talented cousin or friend to make you some cool drawings on the paper. Buy frames and that’s it!

8. Use old objects to decorate. My father found in my grandma’s yard an old iron that used hot coals to iron the clothes once. The rusty iron was painted and now looks brilliant on a shelf.

9. Feel free to imagine! Discover new ideas by yourself. Check for online tips and advices.

The item I am going to write about is something really extraordinary. The chair is made out of azalea wood. Azaleas are flowering shrubs making up part of the genus Rhododendron.

Azalea Wood Chair

The design was conceived by Wisteria. All the chairs are unique in style and color. Wisteria sales the products for $749.00. They also charge you with an extra $75 for shipping. At this time the azalea chairs are out of stock. However you should contact the producer to be informed about the new arrivals.

A Sofa Bed is a Transformer?

I found this interesting sofa bed that reminds me of the Transformers movie. How come? You just need to look at the photo below to understand.

Doc Sofa Bed

Sofa bed are usual for livingrooms and places to rest. But this one could transform into a bunk bed complete with a hideaway ladder and safety rail. So I can say it is a 3-in-1 bed. The Doc sofa bed is made by UK based BonBon Trading.

Stone Forest Presents the Stone Sink and Tub

I know you will agree with my opinion regarding the following items. Stone Forest has created unparalleled hand-carved granite sculptures that combine the elegant simplicity of Japanese and contemporary design since 1989.

The two objects I am presenting you are part of the Kitchen & Bath collection. The design is unique as the products are created manual. The design artists bring out the natural, stately beauty of the materials, giving the sinks and bathtubs a quiet, elegant feel.

Stone Sink

They use the granite, marble and travertine rocks. Each piece is carved manually using the hammer and chisel. In my opinion, the Stone Sink and Tub are fascinating. Decorating your bath with these objects you feel closer to the nature.

The Mix Task Eco-Lamp

The Mix Task Eco-Lamp

This lamp has won the Design Plus award, Frankfurt 2006. It might look regular to you, but it is not. Priced at $590, the Mix Task Lamp uses LED chip-on-board technology that gives the user the ability to adjust the color of the light from warm to cool by sliding a screen located on the underside of the head. Its energy consumption has just approached 5 watts.

The eco-friendly lamp delivers around 50,000 hours of pleasing light. An interesting fact I read about it: when you switched it off, the lamp head is illuminated with a blue light, making it easy to find in the dark. Also the stem is flexible so its users can direct the light where needed.
